this is not an ending

This is something softer, and something about loss. This is absence as it is present. This is vapour; transient, slippery. Unstable. This is a rupture; abrupt, raw. Stinging.
This was never peace. This existence, however absurd, is important.
This is process. Visceral knowledge demanding space and time and energy. Invitation and permission. A small space with expanding walls.
This is not an ending.

‘this is not an ending’ is the first solo exhibition of emerging artist Shannon Taylor-Jones. Originally from Toronto, she received a BFA from OCAD University in 2016 and currently resides in London, Ontario. Primarily a painter, her work focuses on abstraction and explores ideas of intuition, process, and materiality.
