California Dreamin'

California Dreamin’ is a playful new series that revolves around nostalgia, revival, and visual aesthetics. The use of textiles is important not only in this body of work, but within Alyssa’s practice as a whole; the added tactility of fabric draws a viewer into the painting in a way that could not be achieved with composition alone. The 1980s references are heavily present within these works, and are heavily influenced by interior spaces and neon signs.


Alyssa Pisciotto is from LaSalle, Ontario and now resides in Toronto. She graduated from OCAD University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Drawing and Painting and minoring in Printmaking.
